The Risk is Real - Serving our Country
As I watched ABC's Good Morning America last Monday morning before going to work they showed Dianne Sawyer on location where the Tsunami hit and she was telling about all of the tragedies, rescues, and the rescue helicopters flying in from the USS Abraham Lincoln. The very same USS Abraham Lincoln that Santa Anna's own Clay Hubbard is stationed on in the Pacific Ocean. See the official USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 website for more information and some really cool pictures.

Trees
I almost forgot to show you the photos of our trees as they changed colors.. this all started in November and of course they are now bare.
This was the first one I showed you of the sweetgum out front around Thanksgiving
This was the second one I showed you of the same tree after a couple of weeks... it lost the yellow leaves in a game of kickball with Nate and Jessica as you may recall
Same tree right before Christmas
You may not have noticed Cindy's tree face in the photo above.. but he welcomes all to our home.. sometimes with a double take!
This is our crooked Chinquapin Oak out back and our 21 year old cat Frisky.. she's not so Frisky these days.
And the sister tree to the sweetgum out front along with Jessica's boxer Chloie.
Well that's it for the trees.. I thought for sure I had shown you already.. and who knows? ..maybe I have.. it's late and I am tired.. Have a good Friday and we will talk to you next week.
Sunset
I enjoyed a nice sunset on the way home from work Monday night and just thought I would share it.
Mountaineers 1 Steers 2
The Mountaineer teams came up a little short Tuesday night against the Robert Lee Steers. The JV Girls won in an exciting overtime win, but the Varsity teams came up short. The Lady Mountaineers dropped their first loss in District play, losing 48-68. The Ladies spotted the Lady Steers (or are they heifers or cows?:), quite a few points in the first quarter and never could catch up. The Mountaineers got out hustled by the Steers in their game, losing 31-56.
I started taking some photos from down on the court to hopefully capture the action a little better. I am still getting the hang of my new camera that Santa Claus brought me. I try real hard not to interfere with the games, especially since Jessica looked over at me earlier in the season at one of those gyms where the stands are right on the court and asked me, "Did you get that?" Anyhow, I hope that you like them.

2005 Santa Anna Livestock Show
The Santa Anna Livestock Show was held this past Saturday at the show barn. They had asked me to be there to take some photos for the kids. I really had a good time and there was some great weather for this year's show. It has been a long time since I got any pig stuff on my boots! I took almost 300 photos of the show and had hoped to get them up by Monday but just ran out of time Sunday afternoon so I will get them up by Tuesday.
I can have prints made of any of the stock show photos.. just use the ordering information at the bottom of this page.
The cold early morning wind made it necesary for most to bundle up.
Welcome from the FFA.

Reward
Sometime in the last few weeks someone stole my Duofast coil roof nailer out of Ray and Jean Findley's garage. I am offering a $50 reward for information that leads to the return of it. I can positively identify it.
If you are the one that stole it, not that you would be reading this, I hope that you at least used it to buy Christmas gifts or food for children that would have to do without and not for drugs or a habit.
SantaAnnaNews.com Photos for Sale
I have debated whether or not to do this but I am going to try it out and see how it works for a while.
Several have asked me for copies or prints of various photos on the site. Based on my experience and what I have read in various publications, photos printed at home just are not lasting very well, especially in the Sun or bright rooms. Some that we have printed out look good for a couple of weeks and just seem to fade too fast. So I have found a site that will do a pretty good job of printing and of course all the photo places can print from a floppy or compact disk now.
Many want photos of some of the various school games and since this whole deal really started after the Booster Club asked if I would take some photos for the programs and maybe to give each athlete a CD with some photos on it at the Sports Banquet in the Spring, I want to be sure that each of you knows about it. The CD's given to each athlete won't have all of the photos but will have some of the better ones, simply because they all won't fit on a single CD. Of course you can always just right click on any image on this site and print it out (please note that they are copyrighted but I will grant you personal use.. especially if they are of you or one of your children!). For other use please get my permission before using them.
The photos on the site are also not the original quality or size in most cases, because they have to be redone for the Internet and faster loading. Some of the older photos won't be suitable for printing larger than 4x6 prints because of adjustments made when using my old camera. My new camera is an 8 megapixel so most of the new ones will work for up to 20x30 prints and possibly larger if I can find a place to print them.
Here is the picture resolution recommended for each print size to help ensure that you get a high-quality print:
Wallet size: 320x240
4x6 prints: 1024x768 (640x480 resolution is acceptable but not always recommended)
5x7 prints: 1152 x 864 pixels (1 megapixel)
8x10 prints: 1600 x 1200 pixels (2 megapixels) (1280x960 is acceptable but not recommended)
8x10 prints (cropped from original image): 1920 x 1600 pixels (3+megapixels)
16x20 prints: 1600 x 1200 (this is a bare minimum, for best results 2048 x 1536)
20x30 prints: 1600x1200 minimum, for best results 5 megapixel (2560 x1920)
With that said I will be selling season CD's for $5 each and you can get the whole season for each sport and then print out whatever you want. The 2004 Football season with pep-rallys, homecoming parade, and some halftime activities is on one CD and the 2004 Volleyball season on another. The Basketball season should be available at the end of the season but will probably be on two CD's.. one Girls and one Boys.
The following pricing will be for professional quality commercial prints:

4" x 6" singles |
