The Risk is Real - Serving our Country
Remembering those that have served and those that are serving our country.
You know sometimes it doesn't hit you until it is personal.
1549 American soldiers or sailors have died in Operation Enduring Freedom as reported by the Department of Defense and the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count. Pray for our country, its' leaders, and our soldiers and sailors. Please remember the many serving as volunteers for various groups and those that may be working for the media or one of the many Department of Defense contractors that have employees in support roles in Iraq including Santa Anna's Jason Dane. These folks are serving an important part in the rebuilding of Iraq and the danger is just as great if not more for them as it is for soldiers.
Many service men and women return home safely. Operation Tribute to Freedom Homecoming Photographs.

I wonder whatever happened to..
I wonder whatever happened to Jeremy Holbrook..
Once again I cheated a little.. Jeremy was one of my old classmates. I remember when Jeremy first moved to Santa Anna from Coleman. It was right before our Senior year and we were glad to see a big ole boy move in. He was quite an athlete and could throw a heck of a block.
Jeremy didn' live here long but it is nice to see that he considers Santa Anna home. I don't think that I have seen him since we graduated and it was great to hear from him. Jeremy found SantaAnnaNews.com a while back and had this to say:
Hey James And Cindy. I was really glad to find your site it was refreshing to find a little news from home even if I don't get back there very often.
As for me I live about thirty miles south of where Rusty(Buzzard) lives and I keep up with him and his teams and have since he coached at Cuero. Inez is 10 miles North of Victoria on Hwy 59 towards Houston. I have been living here since 1991 and manage a heavy Equipment tractor dealership. I have been married to my wife Davanna for 20 years this February. She is from the Mozelle area. We have a 9 year old little girl. We really enjoy it living here near the coast.
