This site is a culmination of a dream that I have had ever since I started using the Internet. I have been inspired by several individuals but must give some credit for inspiration to Randy Turner for creating colemannews.com and to Joe Sanchez, creator of bradytexasnews.com. While Randy and the current owners of colemannews.com have made efforts to include news about our town in their site, I believe it is just not the same as having our own… and that is just what I hope that you will say and feel… that this site is for you and that you get something from it. Mr. Sanchez’s bradytexasnews.com is more of a political activist statement/ freedom of speech type of website that I believe would lead a town to community vigilance.
I am doing all of this strictly voluntarily and as a community service. I have been serving this community voluntarily for the last 30 or so years through Boy Scouts, Lion’s Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Board, and the school Booster Club. This site from time to time may reflect my opinions, others that I believe in, and even some that I don’t. If you don’t like these opinions don’t come to my site. This site is funded by me and no one else, so you will not see any advertisements, so I won’t feel obligated to a particular business, although I may feature a product, business, or service that I believe in. It is for the promotion or our town, businesses, churches, school, and community organizations, and our families. So as this site grows it will hopefully become something of value to you.
I hope to update this site daily but will realistically update it weekly so come back to SantaAnnaNews.com soon and see what’s happenin’ and also tell your friends and family about us if you like.
Well kids it’s almost that time again! Are you ready?
Have you got a good look at our “like new” high school?

I know that Mr. Walker is very proud of all the work that has gone on… but I haven’t got the tour yet!
My Daughter Chrystal got a tour the other day and said, “It is awesome!”
A special thanks to him for the hard work he has put into our school.
Have you seen how great our football and practice fields are looking?
Speaking of how good things are looking at school… how about the new paint job in Perry Gym!
I am not sure who all the credit goes to for all this hard work but I do know that Coach Kerr has put his heart into it over the last couple of years… I am so glad that he and his family have chosen to stay in Santa Anna… he has a very nice family: Mrs. Kerr is such a nice lady, Patrick is certainly one of the nicest young men I know, and everybody loves Nate and Nate loves everyone.
Coach Kerr has added some continuity to both the girls and boys athletic programs that they really need right now. He has a reputation for being a motivator and has really kept the kids in shape. Hats off to Coach Kerr… I understand he is not an Internet/computer user, so I hope someone will point this out to him…:

I think Patrick and Coach are responsible for these wall paintings in the gym also…

Well the girls have played a couple of volleyball scrimmages and I am sure that they are missing Coach Heath… she is one of the best girls coaches, if not the best, that I have ever known. Our girls really respected her and responded to her leadership. I have even more respect for her since she has chosen to stay in Santa Anna and teach. Girls Volleyball and Basketball are not the same games they used to be and I consider Coach Heath to be at the top of the coaches list.
The girls really seem to like Coach Libby and I hope that he is successful here and enjoys our town. I have met him and he really seems like a nice man, but he has some big shoes to fill.
Lady Mountaineers get ready to “send it back” to Abilene Christian in recent volleyball scrimmage at Perry Gym:

The boys are working hard too:

The Pelton’s are really going to miss the Steeles at games.
Cindy had really gotten attached to Natalie and Princess Brianna, but we wish them luck in May.
Don’t forget “Meet the Mountaineer” at Mountaineer Stadium on Friday the 13th
Thanks to Jessica for helping me out… maybe she will keep Mrs. Guthrie from correcting me!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see ya soon in Santa Anna!
